Why is Ester-C® described as “non-acidic”?

Ordinary Vitamin C is acidic (its scientific name is “ascorbic acid”), which means that it may cause gastrointestinal irritation in some people. The unique water-based process that Ester-C® undergoes, however, makes it non-acidic. This means that it can be gentler on the stomach than ordinary Vitamin C.

Can I take this product during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
